Clove has been used in Ayurvedic and Chinese medicine as well as western herbalism for many ailments from warming the digestive tract to relieving toothaches.  It has also been used as an insect repellent.

The clove tree is a tall evergreen with clusters of red unopened flower buds.  The buds are dried and then steam-distilled.  Clove essential oil is a warm, woody, musky scent that is often reminiscent of fall and winter holidays.
